FC Malaga City proudly announces a groundbreaking Global Football Development partnership with Premier League’s Tottenham Hotspur. Commencing in September 2022, the partnership involves collaboration with one of the world’s top football clubs, adopting Tottenham’s acclaimed training methods from their Academy to enhance our Academy players’ skills.
Tottenham’s coaches will conduct educational workshops in Spain and invite FC Malaga City staff for quarterly visits to their advanced London training facilities. Additionally, FC Malaga City players will benefit from two developmental visits at Tottenham, featuring intensive training, matches against select Academy teams, and insights from various Club guest speakers.

What’s Involved in Our Partnership?
Our partnership with Tottenham Hotspur brings direct access to world-class coaching and development. Staff benefit from hands-on workshops led by Spurs Academy coaches in Spain, while players take part in elite training sessions delivered by Tottenham’s Global Football Development team. The experience is elevated through residential tours to the UK, featuring high-intensity training, matches, and guest speakers like Jermaine Defoe and Yaya Toure—giving our Academy unmatched insight into top-tier football.
Tottenham’s expert coaching staff will deliver interactive and informative coach education workshops throughout the season from our Academy HQ in Spain, so our staff can learn and experience first-hand the Spurs coaching philosophy in operation.
Tottenham’s Global Football Development will also oversee and deliver sessions throughout the course of the year for our Academy players, allowing our players to experience the ideas and methodology of an elite-level football club and work with experience coaching staff.
Tottenham will host two football development residential visits for FC Malaga City players, providing high-intensity training sessions, matches against selected Academy opposition and the opportunity to hear from guest speakers across the Club. We have had the pleasure to meet former professional players such as Jermaine Defoe and Yaya Toure on our visits so far!
This partnership provides us unrivaled access into one of the biggest clubs in world football, allowing our players and staff to take full advantage of the opportunity to work, play and learn from the highly experienced team at Tottenham Hotspur.
